Under 16's Girls Cup - Thursday 29th March 2007 Kick-off 6.30pm Referee - Eddie McGrath Promotions (March 2007) Well done to the following society members for reaching promotion this year: James Madine - Promoted to Level 3 Jonathan Farnan - Promoted to Level 5 Also well done to the follwoing society members for passing the assessors course: Carl Leungsangnam Chris Duckworth Eddie McGrath Nick Farnan We all wish them well for the future Big name announced for May (March 2007) Bootle secretary, Eddie McGrath has secured the services of probably the best referee in England at this time, Howard Webb. Howard is due to come to the soceity on 14th May to speak to the membership. This however is provided that he does not get appointed to the UEFA cup final. Howard was due to arrive in Bootle a few months ago, but he was promoted in the UEFA rankings and had to attend a meeting in Europe. LCFA Quiz (February 2007) The LCFA Quiz took place on Tuesday 27th February at the home of Liverpool Sunday society, the Nalgo Club. The Bootle team consisted of Carl Leungsangnam, Clare McVerry, Joe Hickey and stand in Mark Ryder from Liverpool Sunday. Carl, Clare & Joe were hoping to repeat or better the 2nd place in the 2003/04 quiz. However after most of the questions this time round not being from the LOAF and more general knowledge of football, we failed. The results were as follows: 1st - Liverpool Sunday - 48 points 2nd - St Helens - 45 points 3rd - Liverpool - 39 points 4th - Bootle - 33 points 5th - Southport - 29 points Individual top scorer - Joint winners Peter Nurse (St Helens) & Keith Jones (Liverpool Sunday) 14 points.
